用玻璃刀的技巧是要平均用力壓下去,留下一完整及清楚的裂紋。
玻璃的特性是慳硬但易碎,導熱沒有金屬快。如溫度突然在某部位快速轉變,不平均的膨脹或收縮會令玻璃裂開。
所以選用的發熱綫必須在短時間內升上高溫,太慢的話就不能令玻璃突然膨脹而裂開。
鎳鉻綫Cr20Ni80的操作溫度可高達1200℃,室溫20℃電阻係數ρ~1.09µΩ.m
0.3mm綫徑的鎳鉻綫,阻值為0.154Ω/cm,25cm長的約為3.86Ω
使用12V DC,電流約為3.11A,功率約為37.3W,足夠令普通厚度的玻璃樽沿裂紋突然膨脹而裂開。
